Q. When should I buy?

A. In the past 10 years solar panel technology has improved tremendously.  The prices however have dropped due to greater demand both in the UK and Europe.  There is no better time to purchase than now.

Q. Payback time?

A. With escalating fuel costs at 20% a year, it is very difficult to predict an accurate payback time.  However, consider a building society savings account with £3,000 at 5% interest for a year, giving you £150 interest.  You would easily save this £150 a year on a family’s utility costs with a solar panel system.

Q. Energy savings?

A. If your family has a high hot water usage, a basic solar system package should save in the region of 70% on hot water heating. Additional savings on central heating can be made if you have a suitable sized hot water cylinder and the relevant control equipment.

Q. Fitting disruption and mess?

A. Generally installation takes 2 to 3 days to complete, including the fitting of a new cylinder where appropriate.

Q. Can I extend and change the system at a later date?

A. Yes, if your requirements change, for example with the addition of hot tubs or swimming pools, or if your family’s utility demands increase, your system can be extended to meet your needs.

Q. Would solar panels increase the value of my house?

A. Having spoke with numerous estate agents for advice, the answer is yes, they will add value and makes your property more attractive to potential buyers because of the reduced utility costs.

Q. Can I take it with me when I move house?

A. The solar panels and roof space equipment can easily be removed and refitted in another property.  However, if the hot water storage cylinder has been changed, it would not be cost effective to remove this item.

Q. We have a problem with low pressure hot water and currently using an electric shower unit, with poor results.  What is your opinion?

A. Our range of cylinders can eliminate this problem.  The internal heat exchanger is more than capable of giving high performance hot water pressure to all outlet points.

Q. We have a domestic electric boiler system already.  Can this be converted to include solar panels?

A. Yes, we can fit an additional internal/external exchanger.  This can also supply mains pressure hot water.

Q. I do like the benefits of solar panel heating, but I don’t want them fitted to my roof because of the age of the property and the location.  What choices do I have?

A. We can install a solar system either fitted to a property wall, or positioned in the garden or other free space i.e. garage roof.
